Maximalism is hugely popular, especially among millennials who often have an affinity for bright colors, lots of plants and a love of accessories, according to The Spruce. To fill their space and make it feel more intimate, those who opt for maximalism tend to throw all their favorite things into one room, which, if done poorly, can feel cluttered.
According to a YouTube video by scientist-turned-interior-stylist and content-creator Kiva Brent, if you don’t have a place to put all your gadgets and gadgets, your home will look messy. Not only that, but you’re spending more money than necessary and doing more work for yourself in the long run.
As 2023 approaches, Brent thinks this trend will become too much work for people to succeed effectively. However, she encourages you to find the happy medium between minimalism and maximalism. You want your house to look lived in, but not like it could be in an episode of “Hoarders.”
