Victorians are set to enjoy cash back on dining, travel and entertainment as part of a huge new voucher scheme announced on Monday.

The package is an extension of the original “Melbourne Money” program and is part of a $200 million package.

A whopping $30 million of the package will go to diners in Melbourne with the program set to launch in the coming weeks.

The discount will be slightly higher this time around and those eating in the CBD Monday through Thursday will be able to claim 25% off their meal bill if they spend more than $40.

However, the maximum a restaurant could claim under the program would be $125 on a $500 bill.

Industry Support and Recovery Minister Martin Pakula said the program would be expanded statewide.

An additional $30 million will go to the same dining rebate program, but for restaurants outside of the CBD.

The 25% discount will be available to diners from anywhere in the state who eat at the restaurant between Monday and Thursday.

Another $30 million will also go to entertainment vouchers for theatre, live music, cinemas, museums, galleries and exhibitions.

The travel voucher program will also be expanded with another 150,000 offered statewide.

Victorians who spend at least $400 on paid accommodation, experiences, tours or attractions in the state will be able to claim $200 back.

“It is important to note that this time 10,000 of these vouchers will be set aside and effectively pre-released under a separate process for seniors,” Mr Pakula said.

“They will be able to register online and participate in a ballot.”

Previous rounds of travel vouchers were very popular, with allowances redeemed in just minutes.

Mr Pakula said the Melbourne Money scheme will launch around March 7 and they hope to have the travel vouchers online a few weeks later.

The statewide entertainment and dining vouchers will most likely launch in late March.

More information about the package will be provided on the Business Victoria website.
