Rockstar Games has released new updates for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Each game has a new patch to download on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

We opened the Rockstar Games Launcher and received updates for all three games. The download sizes are 18.53 GB for GTA San Andreas, 8.96 GB for GTA Vice City and 4.23 GB for GTA III.

On the Xbox and PlayStation side, the update for each game is around 400-500MB. The PC version basically has to re-download the full game like previous updates.

Patch Notes

Rockstar Support has posted the patch notes for this update on their website. The message says that this version of the game is 1.04.5.

  • Stability improvements in all three titles on all platforms

Yes, that’s all included in the patch notes this time…

Farewell to Grove Street?

According to a community member @billsyliamgtathe Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition codebase has changed, suggesting that Grove Street Games is no longer working on the game. This means that a team within Rockstar Games is managing the future of the project as of now regarding updates and bug fixes.

In previous updates, Rockstar has included several changes as well as hidden changes, as noted here. For example, they added more detail and resolution to CJ’s jeans. Billboards have been updated, walls blocking players leaving maps and more were also part of a previous update. There’s still a lot more to iron out with these remasters, and we can only hope Rockstar can fix it.

The mobile version of the GTA Trilogy DE had been postponed to this fiscal year and we still have no news about it. It is currently scheduled to be released before March 31, 2023.

Stay tuned to RockstarINTEL for them and all updates on Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
