New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) on Saturday reported a 135% growth in domestic passenger vehicle sales to 148,380 units in September 2022. Sales were 63,111 units in September 2021.
“The shortage of electronic components has had a minor impact on vehicle production, mainly in domestic models. The company has taken all possible measures to minimize the impact,” the company said in a statement.
The company’s total domestic sales, including domestic passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles and other OEMs, stood at 154,903 units in September this year, compared to 68,815 units in the same month last year.
Total exports during the month also increased to 21,403 units from 17,565 units in the corresponding period last year.
Overall sales volume in September 2022 was 176,306 units compared to 86,380 units in September last year.
As sales volume in September 2021 was affected due to the shortage of electronic components, a year-on-year comparison may not be meaningful, the company said.
