Get a $200 discount on regional travel with the Victorian Travel Voucher Scheme

The state government has relaunched the Victorian Travel Voucher Scheme for another cycle, with applications open from 2pm Wednesday March 23. The program will see eligible applicants claim a $200 refund when they spend $400 or more on accommodations, tours and experiences.

To be eligible, you must book a minimum of two consecutive nights of paid accommodation, with other claimed activities accessible during the period of your stay. All you have to do is book and enter your details via the website during the registration period – from March 23, until funds run out.

Refunds are only available for travel taken from April 8 to May 27, with requests processed from May 4 to June 14, 2022.

So what exactly can you claim? The Victorian Travel Voucher Scheme is divided into three categories:

  1. Paid accommodation such as serviced apartments, backpackers and hostels, bed and breakfasts, chalets or caravans at holiday parks, caravan and camping fees, cottages, farm stays, private vacation rentals, houseboats, motels, hotels, resorts, retreats and lodges.
  2. Paid tours and experiences focused on leisure tourism, organized by experienced guides. For example, boat cruise, guided walk, bus tour, air tour, agrotourism, food and wine tour, sports tours, outdoor and adventure tours.
  3. Entrance fees to attractions that provide a distinct visitor experience to the leisure traveler, such as museums, water parks, local attractions and theme parks.
