Every Fight Scene In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Ranked

Dora Milaje’s are basically the best thing ever. They’re like a cross between a biker gang and ninja ballerinas. They even come with their own theme song! By necessity, they’re mostly background characters, but that’s still a shame. The best part of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” – aside from Nemo, obviously – was Dora Milaje and their occasional beating of US Agent Wyatt Russell. They even rocked Bucky’s cage.

So perhaps it’s only fitting that the first fight scene in the film belongs to these sane women. As Queen Ramonda speaks at a United Nations meeting, French military agents blow up a Wakandan awareness center in a bid to get their hands on some of that sweet, sweet vibranium. They take the place by surprise and force the exhausted Wakandans to open the safe. Big mistake.

The Dora Milaje emerge from the shadow of the vault and completely annihilate the French soldiers. It’s practically over before it starts. To add insult to injury, the Dora Milaje escorts the soldiers, all burly men, to the United Nations meeting. Queen Ramonda sends the soldiers back to France as a sign of good faith, but in fact it’s more like “come on, brother, you can’t be serious”. The Queen wears a sleeveless ensemble that shows off her impressive arms (Angela Bassett got seriously yelled at, y’all), and frankly, it wouldn’t have been out of place had she also emerged from the vault.
