Applications available for council boards, committees




The City is now accepting nominations for various Boards and Committees of Council.

Depending on the board or committee, terms of office are two or four years.

Boards and Board Committees whose members are appointed by the Board include:

  • Christmas Lighting/Halloween Spirit Evaluation Committee
  • Adjustment committee
  • Review Committee – Local Improvements
  • Cultural Vitality Committee
  • Environmental Monitoring Committee
  • Environmental Sustainability Committee
  • Closing Spectators Committee
  • Historic Places Commission
  • library board
  • Municipal Heritage Committee
  • Advisory Committee on Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities
  • Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
  • Property Standards Committee
  • Sault Ste. Mary’s Public Library Board
  • Tourist Office

Boards and committees that are not part of the board, but whose members are appointed by the board include:

  • police services board
  • PUC Water

Anyone interested is invited to submit an online application form which outlines relevant experience and expertise and the form can be found here.

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipalities Act and will be kept in the strictest confidence to be used only for the purposes set out above.

Applications will be accepted by the City Clerk until 4:30 p.m. on November 30, 2022.
